KATELYNN CLINTON & CODY LOOMIS CHOSEN FOR ALL-OPPONENT B LEAGUE TEAM

The Columbia Gorge league has chosen its All-Opponent Team for both boys’ and girls’ teams for the 2006-2007 season.  The All-Opponent team is made up of 12 girls and 12 boys that are chosen, and voted on, by the coaches of the teams from these schools.  This year both B-One and B-Two leagues combined to make selections for one team each of boys and girls.  The schools are:  LaSalle, Riverside Christian, Lyle, Klickitat, Trout Lake/Glenwood, Yakima Tribal, Sunnyside Christian and Bickleton.  The players represent what the league’s coaches feel are their top players for this season.  Coaches may not vote for players from their own school, so the selection is made by other coaches.  We would like to congratulate Katelynn Clinton and Cody Loomis for being selected to this year’s Columbia Gorge League’s All-Opponent Team.  Way to go, Katelynn and Cody, we are proud of you!!

  SUPERINTENDENT’S CORNER

Dear Community:

Spring is in the air, bluebirds have been sighted and we have robins flying about the campus.  But the true sign that spring is upon us is that basketball is over until next season, and track practice starts on February 26th.  Everyone is looking forward to warmer temperatures and a little more sun each day.

Our students are preparing for the state mandated WASL tests in March and April.  As you know, this tells us how well we stack up with other districts in the state.  The tests are demanding and our teachers work extremely hard to prepare their students for the assessment.  It can’t all be done at school, however. Parents need to take an active role in how their children prepare themselves, as well.  With all of us working together, we can make our children successful in all areas.  Thank your for your support.

Bickleton school’s administration and Board of Directors will give a power point presentation to the Klickitat County Commissioners on Thursday, February 15th in Goldendale.  The presentation will give an overview of our community and school in regard to the development of wind turbine revenues.  We hope to lay the groundwork for addressing our district and community needs for the next few years.  After this meeting, we will set a date and time to present the information to the community.  I will keep you posted.

Enjoy the spring weather, and I hope to see you at one of our spring events.  As always, if you have any questions, please give me a call.  I look forward to speaking with you.

 Sincerely,

 Ric Palmer
